Back in September, a comment was left on one of my posts about the new John Mackey DGC hole positions regarding the planning of improving the park by way of tree renovation and planting.  The Hagginwood Community Association seems to be working with the Sacramento Tree Foundation and the City of Sacramento Department of Parks and Recreation in order to plant new trees, clean up the dying trees, and overall improve the park.

There have now been some work days set for this:

  • Monday, November 3rd – 8a-4p: Adding mulch around existing trees.  Bring a shovel, gloves, water, and a wheelbarrow or tarp to move wood chips
  • Saturday, January 31st: Tree planting (Tentative date as of right now)

Further information will be posted on the board at the park, and probably left as comments by HCA on these posts, as they’ve been doing at this point.  I’ll update the posts and keep people informed as I get the info.

I can’t find much else online about the plans to improve the park/course at this point, so if you know of any pertinent resources, drop ’em in the comments.  And for further information, you can contact Bill from HCA at [email protected].
