Sacramento’s 2014 Discraft Ace Race has come to a close today.  Around 25 participants gathered to huck some shiny new plastic, and it was a great day for it.  In addition to the standard 9 holes at Santa Anita Park, the tournament director set up an extra three in the back of the park.  Each group went through the 12 holes three times.

But in the end, only one ace was enough for Glenn  to take home the winner’s pack today, although there were definitely some strong metal hits.  I unfortunately chained out on hole 6, and narrowly missed with a forehand shot just a few feet short on one of the temporary holes.  But better than I was expecting out of myself with unknown discs, so I’ll take it!

There was a really great group of people out today, including some familiar faces I’ve run into at other tournaments.  Definitely a good day though, looking forward to next year’s event.  Speaking of, current plan is for next year’s Sacramento event to be at John Mackey DGC, now that there are short basket positions.  Registration will kick up in about 3 months, so keep an eye out for that.  We’ll have the details posted when we have them.

Thanks to Jason Kaeding for putting on this year’s Sacramento Ace Race, good job, buddy!

And I decided to actually break out my camera for the first time in a while today and get some shots.  So, here’s those!
